Árhús is a family business that was established in 2001 when we bought the 28 cottages and the camping area from Hotel Mosfell at Hella. At first we ran a small coffee shop in the service area, but we also offered evening meals in the summer months to groups staying at the cottages. In April 2004 we bought the premises that housed the Blue Lagoon restaurant and transported it to Hella overnight in three separate parts.

At the end of June  the same year, after much work in painting and reconstruction,  with the help of family and friends we opened Café Árhús on the bank of the river Ytri Rangá  three days before the National Horse Show. From that time the restaurant has become increasingly popular and is well established in the area. We have taken on all kinds of receptions and celebrations as well as sending our prepared food all over the region. Moreover  we provide dinner all the year round to groups staying at Hotel Mosfell.
