The staff of Árhús is very familiar with the hiking trails in the south, especially those that are close by. We know of trails that little general knowledge is about and therefore you can hike in solitude. We can point out trails for you and/or help you find a guide that will ensure the safety and pleasure of the hike.

We at South Door have recently started a cooperation with Super Jeep tour guides. The Super Jeep tour is now an important form of sightseeing around Iceland when you want to cover a lot of ground in short amount of time. It is vital to us in Iceland that the nature is treated with the utmost respect and the drivers ensure that trails are followed and damages to the nature due to reckless driving is prevented.

The classical outdoor experiment in Iceland is on the back of the Icelandic pony. We say that riding trips are the oldest form of nature gazing in Iceland because of the possibility of a quick weather change. In South Iceland we have countless horse rentals that offer guided tours. Seasoned guides that build on ancient traditions can guide you around in the highlands or simply around the area.

Mountainbiking is now breaking ground in Iceland because you can also cover alot of ground without polluting the environment. Exciting trails are in the area for examle bike around Hekla or Fimmvörðuháls, but those trails are predominantly hiked at present.
